The UK’s biggest festival was celebrating its 40th anniversary last month. In the absence of U2Tha Doggfather” tore down the place headlining on Friday 25th June. He was joined on stage by the likes of Damon Albarn (Gorillaz) and Tiny Tempah, Snoops headlining bill deservedly received the hottest reviews across the board.

The rumors were false about a Willie Nelson/ Snoop Dogg collaboration which was disappointing because it would of a been a historic moment, however Tiny Tempah didn’t disappoint with his energetic collaboration performance on his number one hit “Pass Out”, Snoop even laid an original verse which really got the festival crowd visibly heated jumping up and down with frantic excitement.

And to think Glasto started in 1970 and was all about long hair, free love and RockNroll. Yet 2 years later after Jay-Z’s successful appearance hip-hop again proved to be the headline savior after Bono’s back injury. This was not an affirmation of guitars and instrumentalists being sidelined but a reimagining of the very important and varied strands that make up what is ‘The’ celebration of music. As always Muse put on a stellar performance and there were other notable live wonders that delighted at this year’s festival such as Bombay Bicycle Club and Brit Award winning singer songwriter Ellie Goulding. However Snoops universal appeal, string of classic hits and a undeniable stage presence could not be defeated by the most vehement of ‘Gallagher’ opinions, and at this historic and most loved of festivals stole the show, ‘was my mother f*cking name’!!!!!!!!
